"Enough with this small-scale stuff," Wang Zecun signed. Although the pickpocket gang had been working the railroad station for years, using their heightened observation and non-vocal communication skills to outwit the authorities, the encroachments of the local police were becoming too obvious to ignore. "If they're going to crack down on us like this, we might as well get out of petty crime completely."

I think there has been another mishap :). Just letting you guys know, I don't think the audio is showing up. Hopefully it's not just me if so then, sorry guys. Either way looks like it will be an interesting lesson.

On the pdf, the characters/pinyin for "what" is: 什吗/shenma. I know "what" as 什么/shenme. Is this a mistake? Or are they interchangeable?

@richard,Sure: 他还是没到,你还是等一等吧 -- He still hasn't arrived, you'd better wait a bit. And the question is: does the word "还是" mean the same thing in this sentence as it means in our dialogue? And the answer is the first one does, and the second one doesn't.--Echoecho@popupchinese.com

Is there any connotative difference between 聋人 and 聋子? Is one more politically correct than the other?

I don't think political correctness is something that has quite reached the middle country just yet...This is a place where some people refer to freckles as 苍蝇屎....so...

Hey good pao pao zhongwen folks - I'm a new subscriber and I'm loving pao pao zhongwhen, it's the perfect supplement to my learning right now. Thanks for all your hard work on this great program! I'm having some trouble with the feature that allows you to click unfamiliar vocab in order to add it to your word bank. In the first days of my free account, the clicked word flew up and added to my work bank. Now when I click a word, the window containing the word info freezes and i'm able to click the character/pinyin/translation within, highlighting the clicked word - but the word does not get added to my word bank. Any help with this would be great.-Benny O
